Conferences are held in most states each year. We started in Adelaide in 2007 piloting in partnership with Edge Church, Mission Australia and Prison Chaplaincy Services SA. Over 300 people have been trained in South Australia involving 72 different churches of various denominations. Seven churches are welcoming ex-offenders and helping them reintegrate into society.
At the first Perth Conference, in May 2008, 57 people from 21 churches participated. Feedback was most positive, with one person saying, "Thank you for a well run, informative day. I have been involved for 15 years in prison ministry and have learnt more by coming today!"
Sydney's first Caring for Ex-Offenders Workshop was on Saturday 7th November at Sydney NorWest International College, Vineyard with over 60 participants from over 21 churches.
Over 650 people from around Australia have attended a Caring for Ex-Offenders conference. They cater for people with an interest but little experience, to those with years of experience who want to share and hone their skills.
Conferences have been held in almost every state in Australia in 2010, those still open are:| Attachment | Size |
